Lainie Wymer

Lainie Wymer
Lainie attended her first Ashtanga yoga class 11 years ago, seeking a way to cope with a stressful corporate job and the effects of an unbalanced lifestyle.

Since then her regular yoga practice has resulted in profound improvements in her physical, mental and emotional well-being and has encouraged her to create a balanced life and improve her relationships with others.

She is a devoted student of the Ashtanga yoga method and is deeply grateful to have been taught by Angelika Knoerzer, Sharath Rangaswamy and Saraswathi. She recently returned from her latest visit to the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, Mysore, India where she continued her studies of the practice including chanting and study of the Yoga Sutras.

Lainie has completed a 3 year teaching apprenticeship at North Sydney Yoga and Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga with Simon Borg-Olivier. She is currently studying Yoga Anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff and regularly attends workshops with leading Ashtanga teachers.

“Ashtanga Yoga, when practiced correctly, enables self- transformation.  It gradually but consistently moves you towards becoming the highest version of yourself in every way.”

Lainie hopes that through teaching she can enable others to experience yoga’s transformative power in their own way. Her classes are suitable for all levels, and are a place where students can explore this beautiful practice in a safe and non-competitive environment.
