Karen Wong

Karen Wong

Karen-Anne Wong is an aspiring modern yogi who has been practicing yoga and pilates for ten years. Asa child and teenager Karen was a dancer, and can only imagine what her life would have been like if she had been introduced to yoga as a child. Today Karen is passionate about bringing empowerment and laughter to young (and young at heart) people’s lives – and doing so through their bodies.

She is currently writing her PhD at the University of Sydney on Yoga, Kids and how we Imagine through our Bodies, drawing on the theories of Gilles Deleuze. Karen teacheshatha, vinyasa, dynamic and kids yoga at Life and Balance Hunter St and Glebe, Yoganic Willoughby, House of Yoga Redfern, Fluid Form Pilates Waterloo and City Gym Darlinghurst.

Karen’s yoga classes focus on allowing SPACE. Whether this is the space to be allowed to rest, to discover new potential, to develop creativity or to dive beneath our everyday thoughts -Karen encourages her students to find the space they need in her class. Though Karen’s class is often characterised by her attention to alignment and safe practice the ultimate aim of this is never to form the ‘perfect’ pose but tohelp students discover how their body can be the vehicle for more content, energised and compassionate lives.
